On August 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 am the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to Club House Drive for an animal trapped in the Phragmite's. Upon arrival of Deputy Chief Swarts it was learned it was a pet beagle who chased a fox in to the wet lands. As other members of the RBVFC arrived and started to assist with the search, Chief Swarts discover the dog about 50’ off the road in the wetlands. The dog was removed and returned to his owner.
